Word Sparrow Day: The first World Sparrow Day was celebrated in 2010, on March 10, when Mohammed Dilawar noticed the decreasing population of home sparrows.
People observe Sparrow Day on March 20 every year across the globe. In the past few years, the number of sparrows has significantly decreased and as a result, one seldom finds a sparrow in their neighborhood. It is an initiative by the National Forever Society run by Mohammed Dilaawar, in collaboration with the Eco-Sys Action Foundation. This initiative was taken to create awareness about sparrows and their conservation.
