JNU Hosts Mega Conference on 'Operation Sindoor', Defense Experts Decode India's Masterstroke Against Pakistan
Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) successfully hosted a major two-day national security conference to decode the strategic military triumphs of Operation Sindoor.
NEW DELHI. The Special Centre for National Security Studies (SCNSS) at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) recently wrapped up a massive two-day national conference. The hot topic? "Operation Sindoor: Emerging Dimensions of Modern Warfare." Held on March 24-25, the event saw a powerful gathering of military veterans, top security experts, and leading academicians who came together to decode the massive shift in India's defense strategy following the historic military actions of May 2025.
Kicking off the event, Chief Guest Dr. Arvind Gupta, former Deputy National Security Advisor, made it clear that national security and development go hand in hand. He described Operation Sindoor as the beginning of a 'No Contact War' era where traditional battlefield rules no longer apply. Adding to this, SCNSS Chairperson Prof. Ummu Salma Bava called the operation a major strategic turning point that successfully tested India's modern deterrence capabilities.
One of the biggest talking points of the event was the establishment of the 'Modi Doctrine'. Military experts like Maj Gen (Retd.) Dhruv C. Katoch pointed out how the precise destruction of terror headquarters in Muridke and Bahawalpur effectively busted Pakistan’s long-standing nuclear bluff. Other experts also heavily praised the 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' initiative, noting that indigenous defense technology and strategic communication gave Indian forces a crucial winning edge.
Wrapping up the mega event, former NSAB member and retired IPS officer Avadhesh Mathur shed light on the ground reality across the border. He explained how the Pakistani military tightly controls the country's entire economy and politics, using continuous anti-India aggression simply to stay in power. The conference concluded with a vote of thanks by Convener Dr. Amit Singh, who promised that JNU will continue to serve as a strong, permanent bridge between academic research and real-world military strategies.
