Nepal Government Warns Citizens for Burning Images of PM Narendra Modi
Nepal PM releases a statement over disgraceful acts in his country.
On Sunday, the government of Nepal warned its citizens against carrying out shameful and dishonourable actions that may harm and damage the dignity of friendly nations during the protests in the country. It is noticed that the people of Nepal burned the images of PM Narendra Modi in the protest.
The Home Ministry of Nepal in the last few days released a statement saying, "disgraceful activities which include protests, demonstrations, chanting slogans and burning images to spoil the image of the neighboring friendly nation’s PM". However, the statement did not identify the leader but it raised disapproval of the shameful and dishonourable actions by its citizens. This strong statement came after the students and youth organizations that belong to the ruling alliance and the opposition burned the images of the PM as they were angry over the death of a Nepalese youth who died in July after crossing the Mahakali River near the border with India.
"The government of Nepal wants friendly relations with all friendly nations and doesn’t want any activity to happen which may harm the national interest and also request everyone not to take those actions that harm the honor and respect of the friendly nations", the statement added.
Moreover, Nepal has a long tradition of solving disputes with neighbouring nations through mutual dialogue", the statement added. The Home Ministry of Nepal warned its citizens that it will punish those who involve themselves in unlawful activities and take action to control the activities which target friendly neighbouring nations.
