Why this discrimination is still happening in our democratic country
Despite constitutional safeguard and legislation, violation of Dalit’s fundamental rights continue regularly on a massive scale. They face discrimination and are in risk for child slavery and labor. As they are marginalized, young Dalit girls still suffer forced prostitution in many areas. They are restricted from associating with any political participation and are also socially humiliated.
The protection is given by the constitution but has not been followed. Article 14, 15, 16 and article 17 do not support this type of conduct of discrimination with any person.
India has progressed a lot since independence but behavioural and mental evolvment and change is needed among the citizens.
