Miss Universe 2021, Harnaaz Sandhu- Everyone’s pride

Harnaaz Sandhu has won the title of Miss Universe on 13 December, 2021. From family, Principal of her college to famous personalities, everyone in India is proud of her winning the title of Miss Universe. In an interview Sandhu said that she believed in herself always. In the 70^th edition of Miss Universe held in Eilat, Israel, she beated 79 contestants to win the title. After Lara Dutta preceded by Sushmita Sen, Harnaaz, 21, is the third to win this title for India.

Sandhu started competing in pageantry at the age of 17 and has also appeared in Punjabi movies. Moreover, she is close acquaintance of Upasna Singh. Upasna has revealed that she has already signed Harnaaz in two movies.  

Education and Upbringing - She hails from a village of Kohali in Gurdaspur district, Punjab. She was born on 3 March 2000 and belongs to a Sikh family. Her father Pritampal Singh Sandhu is a realtor and mother Rabinder Kaur Sandhu is gynecologist. She also has a brother named Harnoor Sandhu. Family went to England in 2006, after 2 years they came back and permanently settled in Chandigarh. She pursued her studies from Shivalik Public School and before becoming Miss Universe she was pursuing a master's degree in public administration.  

Gown wore in finale

Harnaaz Sandhu, wore a gown designed by Saisha Shinde who came to be a transgender in the month of January, this year. Saisha Shinde,40, posted a picture of gown along with caption “We did it.”

Saisha spoke to News18 that “there is a certain expectation from Miss India at an International pageant. She has to look elegant, exquisite and the gowns needs to look delicate and dainty but at the same time powerful, strong, which incidentally my brand has become now after I have transitioned into a woman." 

Miss Universe 2021- After being announced as Miss Universe she screamed “Chak de fatte India.” During her reign, now, as Miss Universe Harnaaz Sandhu will reside in New York and participate in events globally.
