Violence Escalates at JNU: Clash Between ABVP and Left Students
JNU ABVP left clash

Clash at JNU: Once again, violence erupted between ABVP and leftist students at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). During a meeting at the School of Languages from February 29 to March 1, a violent clash occurred between students from both sides. The night saw fierce exchanges with kicks and sticks, leaving several injured. Each group blames the other for the violence, with left-wing students accusing ABVP of hooliganism, while right-wing students label it a Naxalite attack.

A university spokesperson confirmed that many students have been admitted to Safdarjung Hospital. Videos circulated on social media depict individuals beating students with sticks, throwing bicycles at them, and assaulting them, while security officers attempt to intervene.

Four years later, as preparations for student union elections begin, tensions rise on campus. The electoral process kicks off amidst clashes between students from both sides. It becomes evident that conducting peaceful elections on campus seems highly improbable, as violence mars the atmosphere. This was evident during a routine language school meeting where a peaceful environment was disrupted by violent incidents.
