Man who gone for fishing in Kali river missing

KARWAR: A man slipped and fell into the Kali river while fishing and went missing near Sunkeri in Karwar taluk on Saturday night. A search and rescue effort has been launched.

Santosh Raikar (35) from Kadavada village’s Modibagh was fishing near the Sunkeri bridge on Saturday night when he slipped and was swept away by the river.

Firefighters and police are conducting a search operation in the river’s backwaters for Raikar. The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Karwar Rural police station.
