Malpura is one of the most sensitive towns in the Tonk district after the communal riots of 1992. It was noticed that in the last three decades, there were a lot of riots that happened in the town and many people lost their lives during the riots.
The current situation in the town:
Malpura is currently in the news as one Hindu family selling a house to a Muslim was objected to by other residents of the same locality. The house is in a Jain mohalla and other members gathered to oppose the deal, stating that Muslim families in a non-Muslim neighborhood can create law and order problems. Also, the SP of Malpura claimed that the matter is between the buyer and the seller.
After that, Muslims threaten Hindus as Hindus are forced to migrate after Muslims buy properties there, calling it a case of "land jihad". Also, to make other communities’ lives more miserable, they throw meat. A lot of people are migrating from the town as there is a sense of fear and insecurity among the Jain and Hindu communities. Also, people are protesting with posters in the town.
Recently, Governor Kalraj Mishra forwarded the memorandum submitted by the BJP leaders on the migration of the Jain and Hindu communities. The memorandum reads that due to "land jihad", over 600-800 Hindu families have migrated from Malpura, and the current situation in the town would force more families to migrate, and it is requested to take urgent action on the memorandum.
