ED Collects Rs. 2.85 Crore In Raid Linked To AAP Minister; Party Denies Claims
Satyendra Jain

The Enforcement Director reached the premises of AAP Minister Satyendra Jain on Monday, 6 June and seized 2.85 crore and 133 gold coins that weighed 1.8 kg. The search also found numerous incriminating documents and digital records associated with the jailed Delhi cabinet Minister who had been alleged for money laundering. All the recoveries were made under Prevention of Money Laundering Act of 2002 by the ED.

Manish Sisodia denied the claims regarding the sum of money and tweeted, " BJP had broken all the ties of lies and shame. That only 2 lakh 79 thousand rupees had been collected by the ED even after hours of search."

This case had led to a continual debate and array of questions from BJP spokesperson, Shezad Poonavala, who, during a press conference, slammed Arvind Kejriwal. He questioned Kejriwal and alleged that his party tries to deviate, deflect and divert the corruption charges issued against Satyendra Jain.

In response, the AAP MP, Sanjay Singh mentioned that these raids and interrogations were being done to allegedly divert the minds of Indian citizens from the outrage of gulf countries in response to the former BJP leader's remark on Prophet Mohammad.

Delhi CM also dragged Modi government in a tweet alleging that PM Modi is after his government in the national capital of Delhi and state Punjab. "Lie after Lie, Lie after Lie, you have the power of all agencies but God is with us" he tweeted in Hindi.

The Minister was charged for alleged possession of disproportionate assets. The case filed in 2017 was found to have links to a number of transactions with hawala dealers from Kolkata worth Rs.16 crore out of which 4.6 crore have been made during the time period when he was Minister in the AAP government.

The four companies involved in the case were all linked to Jain and his wife Poonam Jain. A name of trust 'Lala Sher Singh Jeevan Vigyan Trust' had also been involved in the case for providing accommodation entries. The chairman of the trust, G S Matharoo who runs Prudence group of Schools was also accused in the case along with all directors of Ram Prakash Jewelers
