BENGALURU: A group of unidentified youths, allegedly under the influence of ganja, assaulted migrant workers from Uttar Pradesh and extorted money from them. The incident was captured on CCTV camera. The police have arrested two suspects and are on the lookout for the other accused.
The incident occurred on April 15 at around 10.15 pm near the Hosapalya bus stop in Bandepalya police limits. More than five accused were involved in the case. They would attack innocent people at random. The youths targeted migrants who sell ice candy and do small jobs for their livelihood and snatched their money and phones.
The miscreants had demanded money from the workers, and when they refused, they beat them up. The owner of a nearby Nandini milk booth tried to stop them, but he was also beaten up by the group. The accused assaulted the migrant workers with sticks. At this time, the owner of the Nandini booth immediately informed the police.
The police are now investigating the case and trying to track down the remaining accused.
