Modi on another tour: The G20 and COP-26

Prime Minister of India Shree Narendra Modi has arrived in Italy on Friday to participate in the G-20 Summit to discuss various issues like World Economy and overall Health recovery post-Covid situation and Global Climatic conditions after that he will also attend the COP-26 meet in Glasgow which is titled as the World Leaders Summit (WLS), This is the first post Covid meet in which India will be represented by PM Modi.
The PM after landing tweeted his status, purpose, and plans for the visit.
“Landed in Rome to take part in the @g20orgSummit, an important forum to deliberate on key global issues. I also look forward to other programs through this visit to Rome” he tweeted.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) in a statement said that Prime Minister Modi had arrived for his visit to attend the 16th G-20 Summit.
“Prime Minister was received by senior officials of the Government of Italy and Ambassador of India in Italy”, the tweet said.
The spokesperson of MEA Mr. Arindam Bagchi also presented a warm welcome to the PM on Twitter.
“Arrivo a Roma! PM @narendramodi arrives to a warm welcome in the Eternal City. Looking forward to extensive engagements in bilateral and multilateral formats”, Bagchi said in a tweet.
The G-20 Summit:
The G-20 is an international organisation that invites the representatives from World’s major economies. The member countries of G20 are accountable for more than 80% of World GDP, more than 75% of the Global Trade, and more than 60% of the World’s population.
This time the summit will be held in Italy, the major highlights of the discussion will be the growth of the economy, better sustainability of the environment, and post-Covid situations in various countries.
All the G20 member countries are Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Japan, India, Indonesia, Italy, Mexico, Russia, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the European Union. Spain is also invited as a permanent guest.
The COP-26 Summit, Glasgow:
COP-26 is the 26th iteration of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). This annual meeting brings together the 197 members of the convention to take concerted action on climate change.
Following the G-20 summit, PM Modi will attend the COP-26 summit in which the various World leaders will take part to discuss the issues of climate change mitigation or in other words, the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions that are responsible for temperature raise on the planet, adaptation to the irreversible environmental impacts which caused by climate change, and to finance for supporting developing countries in their efforts to move towards renewable sources of energy and thus deal with the impacts of climate change.
“I will be participating in the high–level segment of COP-26 titled World Leaders’ Summit’ (WLS) on November 1-2,2021, along with 120 Heads of States/Governments from around the world,” He said
In this meet, PM Modi will represent India as the top country to be rapidly moving towards sustainable growth and a top country in terms of installing renewable energy.
“At the WLS, I will share India’s excellent track record on climate action and our achievements” he added.
To add weight to his words Mr. Modi gave a remainder of the Indian Culture and that how interdependence and harmony are a part of it.
“In line with our tradition of living in harmony with nature and culture of deep respect for the planet, we are taking ambitious action on expanding clean and renewable energy, energy efficiency, afforestation, and biodiversity”, he asserted.
According to him, COP-26 is also a great opportunity to meet various stakeholders, innovators, and leaders of partner countries. It will also help to explore the various possibilities to accelerate towards environmentally clean growth.
After meeting plans of PM Modi:
PM Modi said that for a few days he will be in the Rome, Vatican City, and Glasgow to attend important meets like G20 and COP26.
He even shared the details regarding his other plans;
At the invitation of the Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi, The Indian Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi will visit Rome and the Vatican City from October 29th to 31st after that he will travel to Glasgow, the UK at an invitation of the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on November 1st and 2nd.
“During my visit to Italy, I will also visit the Vatican City, to call on His Holiness Pope Francis and meet Secretary of State, His Eminence Cardinal Pirtro Parolin”, He said.
‘There would be various bilateral and community-related programs during this visit’. He added.

Prime Minister Modi during his various tours had given a strong representation to India, it won’t be wrong to say that today India stands in various International decisions because of the rate of growth, population, and economy of the country under the leadership of our current PM.
Environment plays a crucial role in the overall growth of any human being, it is our duty as an individual to work towards it, just like our PM is working for the overall development of the country it is our prime duty to contribute in the same.
PM Modi’s international visits and treaties India stands at a respectable position in world politics and I am sure that this visit will also prove to be fruitful for the country.
