One day whole of Kashmir will belong to India: Western Air Command Chief
Being asked about the plans for POK Western Air Command Chief reflected a ray of hope. Read the story to know more:
The Western Air Command chief Air Marshal Dev on being asked about the plans to gain control over POK (the area of Kashmir that belongs to India but is captured by Pakistan), said that one day whole of Kashmir will belong to India.
Currently, as India is dealing with various other border issues that need to be resolved, there are “no plans” at moment but one day India will gain control over what is rightfully ours “the whole of Kashmir” he added.
Kashmir rightfully belongs to India:
When the ruler of Kashmir on 26th October 1947 signed the ‘Instrument of Accession’ with India, the very next day Indian Air force was deployed in Kashmir to deal with the Pakistani tribal raids, in a similar order the force had to deal with many challenges including the lack of technological advancement.
Kashmir will be ours:
The Air Marshal made us remember the bravery of Indian forces that furiously fought against the Pakistani tribal army and freed Kashmir which is now a part of Democratic India.
“As a result of action taken by the Indian Air force and the Army on 27th October 1947 the independence in this part of Kashmir was ensured. I am sure that someday the part of Kashmir, occupied by Pakistan, will also be included in this part of Kashmir, and in the upcoming years, we will have whole Kashmir” he assured.
On being asked about the people who are residents of POK he answered “Kashmir is one, the nation is one. People on both sides have equal affection. Be it today or tomorrow, history is witness that nations come together. At the moment we don’t have any plan, but God willing, it will happen because people in Pakistan occupied part of Kashmir ate not being treated very fairly by Pakistanis”.
What is lacking?
On being asked about the grounds on which India is lacking and needs to progress, the senior officer commented on the technological advancement that we need to make however he assured us that even with the available resources India is far more capable than most of the countries.
“The rate of change of technology is so fast in the world today that we have to keep pace with it. If a country has to develop economically then it should have a strong army, we should fulfill obligation towards the nation in the coming years and we are always ready for the challenge.” He said.
Are drones a threat?
In recent times India seems to be quite disturbed by the advanced high-tech army drones from across the border but he assured that Indian forces are very capable.
“The India Air Force has become a very capable force and in the years to come, we will continue to serve the nation with dignity”, He said.
On being questioned about the successful drone terror attacks from across the border he said that the drones are not a major threat, yet the technology required to eliminate them is still developing.
“We had equipment ready against it (drone attack) and it was deployed here as well, New we are increasing the deployment by purchasing more equipments. The drone challenge is a small challenge and whenever this challenge comes up, we will be able to meet it.” He added.
Writer’s view:
Kashmir has been one of the main reasons for conflict between both the countries for several years, although while partition when Kashmir decided to be an independent state, Pakistan forcefully tried to gain control over it, In result the then king of Kashmir seek for help from India, India strategically in against protection of Kashmir from Pakistan asked for the merger, which was then agreed on the paper, thus legally Kashmir belongs in Indian territory.
Considering the recent times Pakistan is one of the most degraded economies of the World the land it already occupies is itself in heavy debt, thus to even think about taking Kashmir from India is a foolish step rather it shall focous on what it has and try to raise the quality of life of people that already reside in Pakistan.
