BENGALURU: A school compound wall in Bengaluru was demolished by local landlords over a dispute. Locals have built a compound and a house illegally across the BBMP road next to the school.
The owner of Kids Mansion Iconic School in Marathahalli, Kiran Kumar, had lodged a complaint at Marathahalli police station regarding illegal construction.
Following the complaint about the encroachment, the Bangalore Metropolitan Task Force (BMTF) cleared the compound. In a fit of rage, local landlords demolished the school compound wall and canopy with a bulldozer.
An FIR was filed against Naveen, Vishwanath, Chandrashekhar, Chandru, and many others in this regard. The incident occurred in HAL police station limits, and a case has been registered at the Marathahalli police station.
However, the demolition of the school compound has left parents and nursery and pre-nursery children of the school anxious and they are demanding a thorough investigation by the HAL police.
Nagaraj, the father of Kiran Kumar alleged, “I am running a school for small children. There are 300 children in the school. Local landlords constructed a compound wall and a house on the BBMP land and blocked our way. I complained to the police, but the landlords just threatened them that this is a personal matter. They warned it is better keep away from this issue. Then, I approached BBMP and collected the map of that area. It is a BBMP road as per the map. Firstly, we approached the police, but there is no use. Then again approached BBMP with BMTF and the police force. In a fit of rage, they destroyed the school compound wall and damaged school property and also threatened my son of his life”.
