CHIKKAMAGALURU: An elephant died after suffering an electric shock in the Thanigebailu forest area in Tarikere taluk on Tuesday. The elephant, estimated to be around 35 years old, was electrocuted while trying to eat a jackfruit.
The incident occurred on Lalbagh Road near Kemmannugundi. This area is known for frequent elephant attacks, resulting in human casualties. Unfortunately, elephants too often get trapped between rocks and die from electrocution or starvation.
Many people have lost their lives due to frequent wild elephant attacks. In the most recent case, a farmer died on Ugadi festival day due to an elephant attack. Forest authorities visited the spot.
