Mumbai Indians got trapped in the spin web of Amit Mishra as Delhi Capitals beat Mumbai Indians by six wickets to end the five-match winless streak against the five-times champion Mumbai Indians in the 13th match of Indian Premier League (IPL).
Rohit Sharma elected to bat first after winning the toss. Quinton de Kock was dismissed early by Stoinis at the score of 2(4), after de Kock’s dismissal Rohit Sharma (44) and Suryakumar Yadav (24) added 58-runs for the second wicket. Mishra didn’t stop there and he further dismissed Hardik Pandya (0), Kieron Pollard (2), and Ishan Kishan (26) to finish with the figures of 4/24 in his four overs. Due to Mishra’s amazing bowling performance, Mumbai Indians only managed to score 137/9 in 20 overs.
Delhi Capitals chased down the target with five balls remaining, Prithvi Shaw (7) was dismissed early by Jayant Yadav. But later Shikhar Dhawan (45) and Steve Smith (33) added 53 runs for the second wicket putting Delhi Capitals in a comfortable position.
Lalit Yadav (22*) and Shimron Hetmyer (14*) then took their side over the line in the final over of the innings. Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals took their revenge of last year’s IPL final. Delhi Capitals have now won three games out of four in this season and are now in the second position in the points table with 6 points in four matches
