CHANDIGARH, June 2, 2025 — PGIMER Chandigarh witnessed a grand culmination of its flagship sporting festival, GLADIUS 4.0, with a spectacular closing ceremony that celebrated community spirit, innovation, and athletic excellence. Over 600 participants from various departments came together to compete in 13 diverse sports, including the much-anticipated debut of e-gaming, marking a historic milestone for the institution.
The week-long sporting extravaganza concluded with a vibrant cultural evening, where resident doctors showcased their talents through music, poetry, and dance. The celebrations peaked with a grand prize distribution ceremony graced by Major D.P. Singh, India's first blade runner and war veteran, as Chief Guest.

Addressing the audience, Major Singh lauded the event’s spirit:
“GLADIUS 4.0 is not just a sporting event; it’s a testament to the indomitable human spirit. You’ve exemplified true sportsmanship and innovation. This isn’t merely about competition—it’s a celebration of unity, resilience, and holistic development,” he said.
He emphasized the mental health benefits of sports, noting,
