India Is a Secular Country and the Majority of Indians Are Also Secular, but Many of Them Support Organizations Like RSS - Javed Akhtar
Akhtar takes a dig at RSS in an interview and compared it with the Taliban.
Ram Kadam, who is one of the leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), warned Javed Aktar for making remarks about the RSS-Taliban. Javed Akhtar works in Hindi cinema. He is an Indian poet, screenwriter, lyricist, political activist, and also a former MP. His achievements are commendable. He has received many awards, including the Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan, the Sahitya Akademi Award and five national film awards. His wife, Shabana Azmi, is a talented actress in Bollywood.
Ram Kadam has claimed that Javed Akhtar compared Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) with the organization of the Taliban and his statement was shameful, humiliating and painful for the crores of people who follow their ideology. Also, he took out a protest at his Juhu residence, made a demand that his films should not be displayed on screens till he apologizes with folded hands and also gave a statement that he is not stable mentally as the country gives him everything he wants. Apart from him, many users of social media also protested against Akhtar’s comment.
In his recent interview with the English news channel, Javed Akhtar said, “the Taliban’s actions are not acceptable, they are cruel and people who are from RSS are of the same mindset as the Taliban and their supporters are also the same as the Taliban. There is no difference between them. In the name of Raj Dharm, the leaders of RSS are ruining the country and, just like the Taliban, who want an Islamic state, they want Hindu Rashtra.
“India is a secular country and the majority of Indians are also secular, but many of them support organizations like RSS and have the same ideology as Nazis. He also added that the majority of Indians are satisfied and tolerable. They must be respected for that,” Akhtar added.
