The growth of this city is sharply associated with the food of Mumbai. In the street of Mumbai, you can find food from all cultures like Gujarati, Goan, coastal, south Indian, Parsi, Islamic and mainly the heart of the soul MAHARASHTRIAN FOOD.

There is no top 5 or top 10 food of Mumbai as all food we get here is best, but let’s talk about the food which is our favorite. 

1) Vada Pao / Batata vada

The best vegetarian snack from the state of Maharashtra and claim to be a chunk of the lifestyle of Marathi. This snack is generally served tempting hot with green chilies, chutneys, and of course pao.
The filling made of potato and chickpea flour is the basis of batata vada.
The most popular theory of vada pao is that its first stall was started by Ashok Vaidya outside Dadar station.

2) Keema Pav
A dish from Mumbai history spelled keema or qeema served best in Irani cafes run by Zoroastrians and Muslims.  It’s full-fat minced meat loaded with a lot of spices and it’s very flavorful and best served with pav
It is mainly served on special occasions by Muslims and Parsi.

3) Bombil fry / Bombay duck
Bombil is not a duck but a fleshy fish found only in the water near Mumbai. This dish has a shallow fry preparation. It has a great demand in the seafood section. The fish is nicely coated in semolina (rava) and rice flour to give a crispy texture. It got its name ‘Bombay duck' from British raj.
