MATCH PREVIEW : MANCHESTER UNITED VS FULHAM 18/5/2021
Injured United face relegated Fulham in a fight for their pride
It has been a rocky road for United ever since their captain Harry Maguire got injured. Consecutive defeats against Leicester and Liverpool have left both their pride and confidence diminished. The upcoming match against relegated Fulham is a chance for redemption, a chance to gain some form before their Europa League final and a chance for their new CB partnership to acclimatize after a torrid two games. It's just a question of whether Ole's men will be up to the task mentally.
On the other side, Scott Parker's Fulham has been relegated. One might think that they have nothing to play for and so a loss would be an easy prediction, but that couldn't be further from the truth. In truth, they have nothing to lose. Fulham have always been described as dynamic, quick and exciting, a poor team playing a very rich brand of football with only their finishing letting them down. Tomorrow, all bets are off for them. They can mentally unwind and play to their heart's content which in turn could result in an exasperating night for the Red Devils.
Expect a quick, end-to-end game with both teams playing on the counter with pace and skill. Although Ole's men seem strong on paper as usual, it is the mental battle that must be won tomorrow, any fragility from either side and a crumbling isn't far away.
EXPECTED LINEUPS:
MUN: Henderson, Wan Bissaka, Bailly, Lindelof, Fred, Matic, Fernandes, Pogba, Cavani, Greenwood
FUL: Areola, Tete, Anderson, Adarabioyo, Carvalho, Aina, Lemina, Reed, Lookman, Reid, Mitrovic
ARNAV'S PREDICTION: MANCHESTER UNITED 2:1 FULHAM
