Preview: Match 16, RCB vs RR

In the 16th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will be up against first season’s champion Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

RCB has won all three matches played this season and is currently on the top of the points table with six points in three matches. Virat Kohli led-RCB is high in confidence and is looking like a really tough side to beat. RCB defeated five times champion Mumbai Indians in this season’s opening match and later go on to beat Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders respectively.

On the other hand, Sanju Samson’s Rajasthan Royals are struggling with only one win in their three matches, and are positioned on the sixth spot in the points table. The only win for Rajasthan came against Delhi capitals where David Miller and Chris Morris took the side over the line when they were struggling at 42/5 while chasing the target of 147.

Rajasthan will be looking to get a win in this match to gain some confidence, whereas RCB will try to go with their winning momentum.

Pitch and Conditions:

The surface at Wankhede is known as a batting paradise where we witness very high-scoring games, although we have seen a couple of low-scoring games here, we expect this game to be a high-scoring match where the ball will fly out of the park very often.

Probable XI:

Royal Challengers Bangalore:

Seeing the struggle of Samson and Buttler against leg-spin, Yuzvendra Chahal will have a big role to play.

Team: Devdutt Padikkal, Virat Kohli (C), AB de Villiers (WK), Glenn Maxwell, Dan Christian/Rajat Patidar/Daniel Sams, Washington Sundar, Shahbaz Ahmed, Kyle Jamieson, Harshal Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal, Mohammad Siraj

Rajasthan Royals:

With the absence of Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler has taken up the role of opener well but his partner Manan Vohra has not yet justified his spot as an opener. With Yashasvi Jaiswal sitting on the bench he needs to get rolling soon.

Team: Jos Buttler, Manan Vohra, Sanju Samson (C & WK), Shivam Dube, David Miller, Riyan Parag, Chris Morris, Rahul Tewatia, Jaydev Unadkat/Shreyas Gopal, Chetan Sakariya, Mustafizur Rahman
