Sunrisers Hyderabad registers their first win of the season against the Punjab Kings

Chasing for the 4th time in this season, Sunrisers finally opened their account in IPL 2021 by beating Punjab Kings by nine wickets.

Kings, after winning the toss, opted to bat first but started stumbling very quickly. They lost their captain KL Rahul early in the 3rd over; Mayank made 22 off 25 but dismissed by an amazing catch by Rashid Khan off Ahmed's bowling. Pooran went for a diamond duck due to a fantastic fielding effort by SRH skipper David Warner. On a tricky wicket, Kings managed to make a total of 120. Both Rashid and Ahmed had a good day as they registered bowling figures of 1-17 and 3-21.

While chasing, David Warner and Jonny Bairstow gave Sunrisers a start of 73 in 10.1 overs. In the same over, the skipper was dismissed, and then came the calm Kane Williamson, and he made sure to finish the match for SRH. Bairstow batted intelligently and remained not out 63. He also won the Man of the Match award for his performance. The Punjab bowlers did their best to stop, but they looked helpless in front of the SRH batters.
By this win, SRH moves onto 5th position in the points tally.
