Preview: Match 11 DC vs PBKS

Both Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals are in a similar situation as both the teams lost their previous matches because of their poor batting performance. Delhi Capital lost a clutch of wickets in the powerplay to slower deliveries, while Punjab Kings also faced a similar problem while facing Deepak Chahar in their match against Chennai Super Kings.

Both the teams showed a brilliant batting performance in their first match where Punjab Kings made 221 while batting first and Delhi Capitals chased down the target of 188 comfortably. This steep downfall in the batting performance is a major concern for both teams. The only differentiator between the two sides is the contrast in the quality of bowling and this could make a difference.

Pitch and Condition:

Today’s second match will be played in Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. It looks like the batting paradise has turned into the bowlers’ heaven, after the first two matches. In the last two matches, teams lost many wickets during the powerplay, Delhi Capitals lost three wickets and scored 36 runs while Rajasthan also lost three wickets and only managed to score 26 runs. In the last match played at Wankhede Stadium Punjab lost its four wickets in the powerplay for the score of 26.

Predicted XI:

Delhi Capitals:

As Nortje was unavailable in the last match because of the COVID protocols, he will directly make it to the playing XI and will replace Tom Curran.

Team: Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane, Rishabh Pant (C & WK), Marcus Stoinis, Lalit Yadav, Chris Woakes, R Ashwin, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Avesh Khan

Punjab Kings:

Punjab might tempt to replace Chris Jordan with Jhye Richardson or Riley Meredith as both of them couldn’t get any success against Chennai Super Kings and against Rajasthan also they couldn’t stop the flow of runs.

Team: Mayank Agarwal, KL Rahul (C & WK), Chris Gayle, Deepak Hooda, Nicholas Pooran, Shahrukh Khan, Jhye Richardson, Murugan Ashwin, Mohammed Shami, Chris Jordan/Riley Meredith, Arshdeep Singh
