To ease with the fuel efficiency the company has introduced a new ‘ISS-Idle Start Stop’ feature which turns off the engine when in idle mode and automatically starts with just a press of clutch.

The wheels for all the models are diamond cut alloy with 16 inches height which run smoothly on the barriers and potholes of the city roads.

All the doors of the car open at an angle of 90 degree to give easy access to the driver as well as the passengers.

The car gives a massive 366liters of boot space and a cooled glove box at the front.

In the lower variants the car comes with a 4 inch display while in the upper variants it comes with a classic 7 inch display and fully equipped with features like GPS which we have already seen in the high end cars of the company.

 Design:

Tata in its recent times made a great upgrade in design with the cars like Harrier and Safari; we can see Punch in the lineage of the same as it is equipped with projector headlamps and Led DRL, the car gives an iconic bold triangular design in its lower grills and tail light, the indictors are also located at the side mirrors, the upper grills of the car is closed with just a cut out which Tata calles the signature Humanity line. To give the car a proper ventilation the special design is made from the sides of the headlight that does the job and gives the car a more bulkier look that adds up to its road presence.

Talking about the interior the dashboard design comes in a two tone plastic material that feels solid and sturdy to touch, the steering wheel is wrapped with leather while the seats are

The interior roof of the car is covered with a knitted material which we have already seen in the other cars of this segment.

Feel on fit and finish:

The feel depending upon the fit and finish of the car is amazing and up to the mark, again it is the personal choice of the user as to what he/she wants in their vehicle. But the two tone interior

The car that comes with the trust and the brand name of Tata can sure be assured to mark a signature style in the market thus we can say that with Tata the quality is assured.

Cost cutting:

We can see that the car is produced and sold at affordable prices looking at the features it provides, so there must be something from which the prices are lowered, at first we do not see any compromise with the quality of the products used in car as Tata is one of the biggest global manufacturers it does brings its customers with best of the products and as most of the Tata cars are manufactured locally we find a nominal price of the product.

Writer’s Opinion:

According to us Tata Punch, the sub compact SUV looks good with a nice road presence and a design with good taste however to the ones who love speed might be a bit disappointed with the engine performance, we must keep in mind that the car is a hatchback with just looks of an SUV thus to expect the same performance of a SUV would certainly not be advised, thus we can say that the car is a good city commuter and will give a good competition to the cars like Maruti Suzuki’s Ignis, Mahindra’s KUV100, Nissan’s Magnite, Renault’s Kiger, which are in the same segment of compact SUV.
